On April, 23, 2009 OJSC “RIME (Research Institute for Molecular Electronics) and Micron” celebrated its 45th anniversary.

Research Institute of Molecular Electronics was established in 1964 under the order ¹ 50 of the State Committee for electronic technology of the USSR dated March, 5. K. A. Valiev became the first chief director of the research institute.

For the time being OJSC “RIME and Micron” is headed by the member of Russian Academy of Science (RAS) G. Y. Krasnikov.

Many honorable ranks and rewards were awarded on behalf of Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Government of Moscow and the Prefecture of Zelenograd Administrative District at the state reception dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the company.

Opening the celebration, the president of OJSC “RIME and Micron” and academician Gennadiy Krasnikov marked: ““Micron” is represented by a competent scientific and technical membership and it is their complete professionalism that enables us to pose challenging tasks and tackle them successfully”.

Prefect of Zelenograd Administrative District of Moscow Anatoliy Smirnov on behalf of the mayor of Moscow and Prefecture awarded “Micron” team. “We are proud of the fact that the major Russian enterprise for the development and manufacture of integrated circuits of the peak level of complexity is in our town” – Anatoliy Smirnov said.

Vladimir Minaev, a director of radioelectronics department, also awarded the team on behalf of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.

In up-to-date history of Russia, OJSC “RIME and Micron” is implementing a large-scale project aimed at upgrading the manufacturing process, cutting down the technological arrearage (compared to the global leaders of microelectronics), establishing business-projects that correspond to the challenges of market economy.

The enterprise disposes a complete closed production cycle to satisfy the demands of the market: from chip wafers to finished products. Nowadays Micron’s products are well-known among Russian people. More than 20 millions noncontact transport tickets produced by OJSC “RIME and Micron” are sold monthly in Moscow underground.
