2009 year    March

The State Museum of local history and lore opened its doors for visitors in March, 1969. This event followed a great collective job of local historians – Nadezhda Ivanovna and Arkadiy Ivanovich Shishkovy. They took great pains to find soldiers who took part in the final defence line of the Battle of Moscow for Kryukovo station in late 1941. It was a real challenge to get any information about the Battle . To this day the exhibit dedicated to the restless days of capital's defence is the most popular among our visitors. The museum goes on with the acquisition of its collection concerning the Great Patriotic War of 1941- 1945. A collecting work related to the modern life of the electronics city is fully underway. Ancient history of our Motherland isn't forgotten either. A whole room of history is devoted to it. Besides traditional excursions our museum holds lessons on copyrighted programs of the museum education science. The Museum Fund includes 25 thousand stock units.

Many people such as Deputy Prefects S. Gagin and A. Telminov, Head of the Department for Culture I. Antonova, the representatives of city's culture establishments, artists as well as museum friends came to congratulate the staff. Deputy Prefect S. Gagin in honour of the anniversary awarded T. Vizbul, a museum's director, with a Certificate of Merit. The museum's staff were cordially spoken of as they have been carefully collecting and storing Zelenograd history-related items for four decades then. Our museum is unique, it is the only state museum of local history and lore in Moscow . Almost from its very first day the museum became the leading culture center, where you can monthly see artistic exhibitions as well as observe the gallery containing the works of Zelenograd artists. In the anniversary year of 2008 the museum opened a new exposition under the name “My history”, which was prepared in close collaboration with the “ 41” newspaper staff./
