"The Lower Depths" play of the Vedogon Theatre received a theatre "Mask" of the X International Theatre Festival "Voices of History" held in Vologda from June 24 to July 2.
Thirteen teams of Russian and foreign theaters participated in the program of the contest. Earlier Zelenograd theatre Vedogon won the grand prize at the IX Festival for the play "Tsar Fyodor Ivanovich" and the grant of the Ministry of Culture for the new production.
At the X Festival the Vedogon Theatre performed "The Lower Depths" by Maxim Gorky. The performance was directed by the Honored Arts Worker of the Russian Federation Alexander Kuzin, with Kirill Danilov as a stage designer. The authors of the play had to radically restructure the play in a short time to fit it into the historic environment in order for it to be staged near the walls of the Pyatnitskaya tower.
