Village Ruzino is a heroic place, closely linked with the liberation of Krukovo from Nazi invaders.

In late November to early December 1941, there took place fierce fights to stop the enemy rushing towards Moscow. The military headquarters were located in the village, with Katyusha rocket launchers deployed in the forest. On a high mountain in the bell tower of Pokrovskiy Church in Ruzino, there took place adjustment of artillery fire of Soviet troops who liberated Krukovo from the Nazis.

To the soldiers of Moscow and Moscow region:

• Builders of defensive and protective structures;

• Soldiers of the Central part of Russia;

• Soldiers of the Urals, Siberia and the Far East;

• Soldiers of Belarus;

• Soldiers of Ukraine;

• Soldiers of Kazakhstan;

• Military units in Central Asia.

The ceremony of opening the monument was attended by the veterans of Zelenograd, as well as a delegation of guests from the Ukraine. There was also a participant of the Battle of Moscow, retired Major of Artillery, I. Dunaev, from Zaporozhye. All of them were deeply touched by this event, many veterans in their speeches emphasized that the victory over fascism was the result of the heroic efforts of multinational people of the Soviet Union.
